In the framework of its joint project with the Lutheran World Federation Iraq (LWF-Iraq), Baghdad Women’s Association (BWA) and Alternatives to Violence (AVP) movement with support from the Church of Sweden, CPCRS has conducted the first training on Social Media Advocacy at the UoD Cultural Center on January 19 and 20, 2021. Fifteen participants participated this training, of which 10 were females and 5 males; 5 were IDPs while 9 were from the host community; and 1 refugee; 12 Muslim, 1 Yazidi, 2 Christian.

The First day of this training was focusing on introduction to social media; steps for positively using social media, mechanisms for using social media to strengthen peace and social cohesion; and finally, social media as a platform servicing community cases and needs was presented. In the second day of this training, the following topics were presented and highlighted, principles of writing for social media; principles of conducting community initiatives through social media; steps for conducting community initiatives; including some role-plays and discussion related to the topics of this session. 

To determine how effective, this session was, data was generated through the distribution of standardized evaluation forms on the first and following the second day of the training.
