2019

  • The University of Duhok Planning Department, by way of TU Dortmund University, has undergone a rigorous and attentive process of attending eight workshops from 2019-2020 in preparation and inauguration of the establishment of the department’s first Master’s program.
  • In 2019, the first five workshops were attended and mainly focused on the composition of the master’s program. The first workshop covered topics such as the concept of exchange programs, planning for the promotion of young academics, and detailed planning for curriculum development.
  • Curriculum development continued into the second workshop, along with planning for summer school and planning of the training programs.
  • The third workshop, hosted in Dortmund, continued further and more in-depth with the concept of the training program and curriculum development. Cultural programs such as excursions, excursions, urban planning and structural change in the Ruhr Region, etc. were also discussed.
  • The fourth workshop, hosted in Duhok, discussed planning for relevant institutions to the Master's study course.
  • The fifth and final workshop in 2019 was hosted in Dortmund and mainly covered evaluation and adjustment of the project work, particularly in regards to the curriculum of the Master’s program. Planning for the next steps was also discussed.

 

2020

In 2020, three more workshops were attended in the final steps before the master’s program was officially established.

  • The sixth workshop, hosted in Duhok, was the preparation of examination regulations and teaching for MSc. in the winter semester for the 2020-21 school year. Other topics were also envisaged such as planning of training for the team, planning the further promotion of young academics, and planning of the summer school.
  • The seventh workshop continued in Dortmund where the adoption of the examination regulations for the Master's program was foreseen. The Duhok team also received training for teaching preparation.
  • The final and eighth workshop was also hosted in Dortmund and comprised of an evaluation of the work as well as preparation of the documentation for the project. The workshop also further discussed planning and preparation of teaching MSc. in the 2021 summer semester as well as planning for the next steps of collaboration.
