On the occasion of the anniversary of the World AIDS Day, which falls on December 1, 2021, the College of Pharmacy / University of Dohuk, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Health in Dohuk Provnice, held a scientific symposium to clarify the importance of this disease and methods of preventing it.

During this symposium, The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. "Muayad A.Merza",  indicated that those patients in Duhok city are subjected to a monthly laboratory examination and are treated free of charge with the best medicines ( designed to treat this disease globally ) that provided by the General Directorate of Health in  Dohuk Province. He also indicated  that the infection is transmitted mainly through sexual contact and it is a chronic disease and cause  a weakening of the immune system in the affected person.
