June 2, 2022, 1:15 a.m.

Seminar Announcement at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences - Department of Basic Sciences (Branch).

Seminar entitled:

"Effect of pentoxifylline on expression of proinflammatory cytokines"

Giving by:

Dr. Hevidar M. Taha Rostinki

on Sunday, May 29, 2022, 11:00 AM

Objectives or Summary :

Proinflammatory cytokines play a dominant role as local or systemic regulators in the acute inflammatory response. Tissue injury causes the release of proinflammatory cytokines, which are involved in many aspects of inflammation. Pentoxifylline, a non-specific phosphodiesterase inhibitor, has anti-inflammatory properties and can suppress the production of some factors of inflammatory response and presumably prevent certain diseases. The aim of this seminar is to investigate the potential impact of the phosphodiesterase inhibitor, pentoxifylline, on expression of proinflammatory cytokines and whether this effect is mediated by activation of transcription factors NFκB and AP-1.

Place of the Seminar:
