On wed, Nov 24, 2021, from 9:00am to 1:00pm the Research Centre of the College of Law held a workshop at UoD Cultural Centre on (The current situation of the domestic abuse in the KRG) for students from various humanities depts of UoD & Newroz University, under slogan ( We as students lets be part of preventing domestic violence), the workshop was chaired by Dr Reber Hussain Yousif.
At the beginning, a talk was given to the participants by the head of the research centre, Assistant Prof. Dr Farhad Saeed Sadi, where he welcomed the participants and gave a brief on the Issue in KRG.
Then, a seminar was delivered by Prof. Dr Ismaeel Ababbakr on (the concept of the Family violence, factors and effects, and the KRG law of countering domestic violence No.8 of the year 2011).
In the second session, Dr Nazar Ameen Mohammed gave a seminar on (the people affected by domestic violence, types of family violence, and challenges from national and international perspectives).
In the third session, participants were divided into groups for discussion and presenting recommendations)
As decided, recommendations will be documented and published in Kurdish, Arabic and English, and participants will be given a certificate of participation.
Special thank goes to the staff of the Research Centre (Dr Farhad, Mr. Nechervan Sdiq), to the trainers (Dr Ismaeel & Dr Nazar) to the chair and reporter ( Dr Reber & Dr Ary) to the other staff of the college (Miss Najah, Miss Isra, and Miss Awaz miss Chra).
