About the Department

The department of Financial and Banking Sciences was established in 2003. This department submits its students to study for four years to gain a Bachelor degree to work in governmental establishments. The students of this department are provided with the necessary skills and experience required in their future career. The course of undergraduate study is rigorous and comprehensive, preparing students for future professional or academic activities in the field they have specialized in. The scientific courses in this department are a balance between the curricula and actual life. The department includes lectures that impart an overall knowledge of the basic principles and essential details regarding the field of specialty. Students study along with this course; Computer fundamental and Kurdish language. 

Description

The department is concerned with introducing the students to various steps of development of Financial and Banking Sciences, going in depth to provide them with the knowledge and experience to enable them to master and control these curricula helping them become an expert in their specialty. The study system starts mid-September every academic year according to the University calendar and it concludes by the end of June. During the four year course, students must sit seasonal  and final exams in every class. The department provides opportunities for students in multi-disciplinary research and study based on major disciplines to broaden their understanding of production. 

Objectives

Financial and Banking Sciences manage and analyze banking and financial affairs of firms, offices, and marketing of financial institutions. It aims to teach cooperation with other academic units doing relevant research that can contribute to the development of accounting in other establishments, in the world of finance and banking.
