World Water Day 2018 at UoD Malta Main campus
March 28, 2018, 4 p.m.

UNICEF this year is also celebrating the World Water Day March 22nd. The campaign is called ‘The answer is in nature’ and raises awareness of NBS (Nature-based Solution ). The central message is that NBS, such as planting trees to replenish forests, reconnecting rivers to floodplains, and restoring wetlands, is a sustainable and cost-effective way to help rebalance the water cycle, mitigate the effects of climate change and improve human health and livelihoods.

UNICEF will be installing big flexes 3m*3m in the University of Dohuk and in places where people gather for Nawrooz picnics. We are planning a WALK for WATER at the University Campus. There will be in need of at least 250 young students to do the walk. They will be provided with T-shirts and caps.  They will distribute brochures to educate other students on the importance of water and nature conservation.

There will be another celebration at the University Conference Hall that will be coordinated by UNICEF and GIZ, the date will be confirmed right after Nawrooz celebrations.

Let’s work together to raise awareness of water conservation and climate change and let our youth be the agent of change.
