UoD President visited the presidential chair of University of Oldenburg

On the 13th of July 2017 a delegation of the University of Dohuk, consisting of the President, Prof. Dr. Mosleh Duhoky, the Director of International Relations Prof. Dr. Rund Hammoudi and the director of the Center for European Studies, Dr. Mamou Othman visited the presidential chair of Carl con Ossietzky University Oldenburg, Germany.

The group was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Monika Ortmann, the project manager of the cooperation project between the two universities with the title “Implementing inclusion into the education system of Iraq” and received a warm welcome by the President of University Oldenburg, Prof. Dr. Dr. Hans Michael Piper, the Vice President for Graduate Education and International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Esther Ruigendijk and the Director of the International Relations Office of University Oldenburg, Mrs. Birgit Bruns.

It was the first meeting of the two presidents since the inauguration to office of Prof. Dr. Dr. Piper. The focus of discussion was the university cooperation, which got manifested by the signing of a “Memorandum of Understanding / Agreement of Cooperation” in May 2014 and is now financed and supported by DAAD.

Both sides determined the importance of the joint project and clarified how meaningful the cooperation between the two universities is - not only from a scientific point of view, but also regarding the chance for a cultural exchange between Iraqi Kurdistan and Germany.

Prof. Dr. Mosleh Duhoky cordially invited the presidency of University Oldenburg to pay a visit to the city and university of Dohuk in the future.
