the Director of Duhok Research Center at the UoD, Dr. Jassim Mohammed Abdo, participated in a collaboration training workshop) in Amman and Irbid Jordan. The workshop entitled, (Iraqi Pathogen Detection Need & Gap Analyses for Sustainable Capability Development) was supported by (LANL) in the US.  

   The aim of the project was to develop a partnership between the US and Iraqi scientists and enhance the capabilities of detecting and preventing infectious disease outbreaks and other biological incidents. The initial effort will focus on building collaboration paths, understanding the main needs required and identifying all relevant requirements for improving skills. Also, there needs to be an affective  initiative set in place to  build a  trusting working relationship and to initiate development for both short-term and long-term associations and training plans.
